PET HABITAT CLEANING

When you invite Pawsitively Clean into your home, you are entrusting us with a place that provides your pet with comfort, familiarity and security. We honour that trust by treating every habitat with patience, kindness and respect.

Every decision we make begins with one simple question:

“How can we best care for your pet's safety, comfort and wellbeing?”

Our Pet-First Philosophy

Many pets do not understand why unfamiliar people have entered the place they know as home. That is why every part of our service has been designed to reduce unnecessary stress while maintaining a clean, safe and familiar environment.

We use gentle pet-safe cleaning methods unless a veterinarian has directed otherwise
We photograph every habitat before cleaning
We recreate the habitat as closely as reasonably practicable
We return bowls, toys, hides and familiar items to places your pet recognises
We never compromise your pet's wellbeing for speed or convenience
Owner to return pet after cleaning and when completely dry

We Only Perform Full Habitat Cleans

We do not provide spot or partial habitat cleaning.

Owners already have an established bond with their pets. We do not.

Rather than repeatedly disturbing only part of your pet's home, we believe it is kinder to complete a full clean before your pet returns to a clean, safe and familiar environment.

We Take Photos so We Can Recreate Home

Photographs are part of our standard operating procedures and help us:

Document the condition of the habitat before and after cleaning
Protect both you and Pawsitively Clean
Recreate your pet's home as closely as reasonably practicable
Return bowls, toys, hides, perches and familiar items to places your pet recognises

Your Responsibilities

Remove your pet before cleaning and return your pet only after the habitat has been cleaned and dried
Provide fresh substrate, bedding and replacement food
Provide access to fresh, clean drinking water, preferably filtered where this forms part of your pet's normal routine
Switch electrical equipment off before cleaning and restart it afterwards
Advise us of any contagious disease, parasite or special veterinary instructions before your

Our Responsibilities

Clean the habitat using our approved pet-safe methods
Refill food and water bowls using the supplies you provide
Recreate the habitat as closely as reasonably practicable
Document and report damaged or potentially unsafe items
Never handle animals, birds, reptiles, fish, insects or feeder insects
Never clean habitats containing venomous or otherwise dangerous animals
Place your pet's wellbeing before speed or convenience

Biosecurity

Protecting your pet also means protecting every other pet we care for.

Wherever reasonably practicable we use disposable cleaning materials
Where reusable equipment is required it is thoroughly cleaned and sanitised before being used at another property
We may postpone, modify or decline a service where necessary to protect animal welfare

Additional Terms

We reserve the right to decline work where a habitat is structurally unsafe or where conditions may compromise the welfare of the animal or the safety of our staff. Where appropriate we will recommend practical improvements. In cases of suspected animal cruelty or neglect we reserve the right to notify the appropriate animal welfare authority.

Owners remain responsible for ensuring animals are safely removed and secured before our arrival. Pawsitively Clean cannot accept responsibility for escapes or unforeseen events beyond our reasonable control.
